Capoeira Angola is an African-Brazilian cultural art form created by Africans enslaved in Brazil, as a method of emancipation. Capoeira has roots in the Bantu tradition and was used by enslaved Africans to combat the colonial oppression of the Portuguese rulers. Capoeira Angola combines culture, philosophy, martial arts, dance, ritual, and music into a fluid, graceful game of wit and skill.

Comunidade de Capoeira Angola Atlanta is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 in Atlanta Georgia. CCA is dedicated to maintaining a high level of excellence in technique and tradition in the training and performance of Capoeira Angola. Our mission includes promoting and educating the general public, especially disadvantaged youth in Atlanta, about Capoeira Angola along with African and Brazillian culture. We accomplish these goals by providing inexpensive training classes for children and adults in Atlanta. We will be organizing a number of events throughout the year that include, workshops, seminars, and demonstrations.
